ABCD Study at UC San Diego
UCSD is one of 21 institutions nationwide that will recruit families to participate in the ABCD Study. The UCSD site of the ABCD study is located at the Qualcomm Institute within Atkinson Hall, which extends UC San Diego’s investment in the developing cutting-edge technologies and supporting the combined collaboration of institutional innovations. ABCD–UCSD will enroll 575 9 to 10 year olds from select local school districts and follow them through their adolescent years. The MRI portion of this study will take place within walking distance, at the Keck Center for Functional MRI located at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. We aim to understand the influence, health, and risk factors on child and adolescent brain development, when a great deal of growth and change occurs.
