The Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development SM(ABCD) Study has partnered with Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery (RECOVER), a nationwide initiative sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to understand the long-term impact of COVID on children and families. Researchers working on this study are trying to learn how COVID affects the body, and why some children and young adults who got COVID still have symptoms many months later. Families enrolled in the ABCD study® will have the opportunity to participate in a portion of the RECOVER study and contribute to this effort.

Participation in ABCD-RECOVER will include surveys and an at-home antibody test. Being in the RECOVER study is voluntary, and will not affect your child’s participation in ABCD.

ABCD began enrolling families into ABCD-RECOVER in August 2022, and will continue to enroll for the next several months. For more information, please contact your site coordinator.
