The ABCD Study will enroll more than 10,000 students and their families from all over the country. The participants will reflect the U.S. population of boys and girls and will include students of diverse races and ethnicities, education and income levels, and living environments.
Selected schools will provide information packets to all the families of 8-, 9-, and 10-year-old students. These packets will describe the study and how to find the researchers in your community for more information. If you receive a packet, please contact us in any of the following ways:
- Mail in the self-addressed stamped card
- Log in to the website
- Call the university contact number provided on the letter
You will be contacted by a researcher at the nearest university who can answer your questions. The researcher will also ask you several questions to determine whether your child is eligible. If so, we will contact you again to set up appointments, along with instructions for what to expect and directions to your appointment. You will be compensated for the time spent participating in the study.
