UCSD is one of 21 institutions nationwide that is working with families in the ABCD Study. The UCSD site of the ABCD study is located at the Qualcomm Institute within Atkinson Hall, which extends UC San Diego’s investment in the developing cutting-edge technologies. ABCD–UCSD enrolled over 700 children from schools in San Diego County in 2016-2018. We are following these young research participants through their adolescent years to understand the influence of health and risk factors on child and adolescent brain development, when a great deal of growth and change occurs. The MRI portion of this study takes place within walking distance, at the Keck Center for Functional MRI or the Altman Clinical & Translational Research Institute Building, both located in the UC San Diego School of Medicine.
