Established in 1919, The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has a long history of producing renowned research in the field of Neuroscience. UCLA is top ranked by many organizations, including second among public universities by the U.S. News and World Report.

UCLA is one of 21 institutions nationwide that will recruit families to participate in the ABCD Study. The ABCD study is housed in the Semel Institute of Neuroscience and Human Behavior located on Westwood Plaza. The Semel Institute is dedicated to generating research that will help understand human behavior, including brain development. Families in the ABCD Study will complete their assessments in our Computer Play Room located on the fourth floor of the Semel Institute. We have comfortable waiting rooms for parents to fill out their forms right across the hall, and a small kitchen for families to utilize. MRI scans will occur at the Staglin Center for Cognitive Neuroscience located on the first floor of the Semel Institute, or one building over at the Ahmanson-Lovelace Brain Mapping Center. Located in the small neighborhood of Westwood Village, many of our families come to explore the many little restaurants, shops, and movie theater options only a short walking distance from our location.
