Linda Cottler, Ph.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Linda Cottler is the Associate Dean for Research at the College of Public Health and Health Professions, and Founding Chair of the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Florida. She received her M.P.H. at Boston University School of Public Health and her Ph.D. in Sociology-Psychiatric Epidemiology at Washington University. Dr. Cottler has been funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse continuously since 1989, with studies of public health importance—including the development of culturally reliable and valid assessments for substance abuse and dependence, mental illness, and their risk factors; interventions for reducing high-risk behaviors; and her HealthStreet community engagement model, which links community residents to social and medical referrals and research opportunities.
