Dr. B.J. Casey

Dr. B.J. Casey is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Yale University in New Haven, CT, and adjunct Professor at The Rockefeller University and Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of South Carolina and her M.A. and B.A. from Appalachian State University. Her research focuses on the development of the adolescent brain and self-control. She is interested in why teens experience and respond to the world in unique ways. Dr. Casey grew up on a small farm in North Carolina, to which she attributes her love for scientific experimentation and habit of rising before dawn. She currently lives in New York City. When not working on her research, she enjoys grilling on her terrace with friends and family, and leisurely runs and bicycle rides exploring New York and Connecticut.
